QUOTED FROM THE BIBLE
Genesis 1:26 God said, “Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the birds of the sky, and over the livestock, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creeps on the earth.” 27 God created man in his own image.
Genesis 2:7 Yahweh God formed man from the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul.
18 Yahweh God said, “It is not good for the man to be alone. I will make him a helper comparable to him.”
21 Yahweh God caused the man to fall into a deep sleep. As the man slept, he took one of his ribs, and closed up the flesh in its place. 22 Yahweh God made a woman from the rib which he had taken from the man, and brought her to the man. 23 The man said, “This is now bone of my bones, and flesh of my flesh. She will be called ‘woman,’ because she was taken out of Man.” 24 Therefore a man will leave his father and his mother, and will join with his wife, and they will be one flesh. 25 The man and his wife were both naked, and they were not ashamed.

How human beings were created
It was a great moment for God when the whole of creation was completed, and He could now get to the point where He could create two creatures that would be very much like Himself. It was to Him as it is to parents that are excited to see their first child born.
In these verses, God explains to us how we as human beings were created. He first created the male from the soil of the earth and blew His own breath, that means His own life, into his nostrils so that he came alive.
He then removed one of his ribs and created a wife for him. She was similar to man but also different. She was a female so that they would be able to have sexual intercourse and multiply.
They were on a much higher level than the animals. They were intelligent and could appreciate all the beautiful things God had made for them to enjoy. They could even talk to Him and He liked to visit them and discuss His works with them.
Man’s subjection to God
The moment when Adam and Eve came to life, they looked up into the face of God and got to know Him. He probably also spoke to them, welcoming them into His world.
During the following days and months, as they explored the Garden in which they were placed, they saw that there was no-one like Him, which meant that He was the owner of it all. He probably also told them how He had created everything like He is telling us by means of the Bible.
This is an important piece of truth because it meant that He was their God and they had to submit to Him in every way. This earth was His earth and they were His people. It all belonged to Him. They had nowhere else to go to find a place for themselves. Nor would they want to go anywhere else for God had made everything so good, it could not be better.
In this, there is an important truth that we must face. We too live on the same earth, an earth of which we do not own a single grain of sand or drop of water, for God created it all from His own resources and according to His own design. Neither do we belong to ourselves for the materials from which we are created, were also made by God and He facilitated the process by which we were formed inside our mothers’ wombs.
The only logical conclusion is, that we have no choice but to submit ourselves completely to Him, which is not unreasonable, since He is such a loving God.
This is a matter we need to think about.
